ChickenFacts was established a few years ago to provide curated and vetted facts about the South African poultry industry, and to tackle false news and misinformation as it occurs.
To this end we recently launched a news and facts curation service, in order to reflect the widest range of news, views and opinions, along with putting out occasional position statements on issues that required some explaining.
Our Poultry Analysis has rapidly become our most popular feature with the highest readership. Along with the analysis we are also planning to add comment from our own sources.
Next week we will be focussing on the AGOA discussions that start this week, not only curating the news around that seminal event, but also gathering opinion and commentary.
If there are any issues that you, as the reader, would like to see tackled in-depth, please let us know by sending a mail to this address.

Unless South Africa is prepared to accept a future where chicken become a luxury foodstuff, it cannot be business as usual in the face of the unprecedented avian flu (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, HPAI) that is currently decimating our poultry industry.
