Tomorrow South Africa goes to the polls. Already change has become evident, with feverish speculation about the shape that our country will take after Thursday, and the inevitable ministerial shake-up. According to the economists, markets do not like uncertainty, so a smooth transition is desired.

Change and transition are also evident in our poultry industry. Our webinar this week was attended by around 18 small, medium and emerging poultry entrepreneurs. The feedback we received was that more webinars are required, around specific topics. We are already shaping our next webinar, in response to this demand.

From small beginnings we are hoping to grow into something significant. There is a need for this kind of network. Please join us on this very interesting journey!

Our Poultry Analysis this week covers quite a lot of ground, from fresh outbreaks of avian flu to the lingering after-effects of the last round, as well as intriguing consumer news. The importance of affordable protein remains a critical issue.
